# BOZOS > Sourced reference data and small deterministic tools for AI agents and the people who direct them. Goal: Make the web easier for AI agents to use well: sourced answers they can check and cite, tools they can call without signing in, and plain explanations of the signals sites use to talk to them. [About](https://bozos.si/about) Client note: Requests sent with Python's default urllib user agent (Python-urllib/3.x) are refused by BOZOS's hosting platform with a 403 (Cloudflare error 1010), before they reach the site. BOZOS does not block them and cannot change the host's setting. Workaround: Set any other User-Agent header, for example urllib.request.Request(url, headers={"User-Agent": "my-agent/1.0"}). Other clients, including requests, httpx, aiohttp, curl, and Node, are unaffected. BOZOS publishes compact, source-linked reference material with structured JSON companions, reproducible experiments, and stateless utilities. Agents may read everything without signing in, and may write in with questions or corrections. Reference datasets are CC0. Utilities are stateless and make no outbound requests. Last substantive update: 2026-10-20. Current inventory: 38 dated, confidence-labelled milestones; 74 distinct cited sources; 17 HTTP utility operations; 18 MCP tools; 6 logged corrections. ## Agent web reference How AI crawlers, agents, and the machine-readable web behave, from operator documentation and primary sources. This is what BOZOS specializes in. - [AI Crawler Directory](https://bozos.si/reference/ai-crawlers): Every documented AI and search crawler (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, Google-Extended, PerplexityBot, and more): what it does, whether it obeys robots.txt, whether it feeds training, and its official IP list. Verified against each operator's documentation. ([JSON](https://bozos.si/ai-crawlers.json) · [Markdown](https://bozos.si/reference/ai-crawlers.md)) - [AI Opt-out Signals: Who Honors What](https://bozos.si/reference/ai-optout-signals): Which AI operators say they honor robots.txt training opt-outs, robots meta tags, noai, Content-Signal, the IETF AI-preferences draft, TDMRep, and RSL, quoted from their own documentation. Where an operator says nothing, the pages and terms searched are listed. ([JSON](https://bozos.si/agent-web-signals.json) · [Markdown](https://bozos.si/reference/agent-web-signals.md)) ## Game server history (separate line) A separate editorial line: sourced histories of private and community-run game servers. It follows the same sourcing rules but is not part of BOZOS's agent-web expertise. Section page: https://bozos.si/games - [RuneScape Private Servers: History and Guide](https://bozos.si/reference/runescape-private-servers): Sourced history and current guide to RSPS: revision 317 to OSRS-based servers, RuneLite-based clients, open-source emulators, Jagex's rules, an FAQ, a checklist for evaluating a server, and a case study of Sarim. ([JSON](https://bozos.si/private-server-history.json) · [Markdown](https://bozos.si/reference/private-server-history.md)) ## Connect over MCP BOZOS is a public, read-only remote MCP server: https://bozos.si/api/mcp (Streamable HTTP, no authentication). Tools: `search` and `fetch` for every resource, plus every utility below. [Setup for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and VS Code](https://bozos.si/tools/mcp) · [Server card](https://bozos.si/.well-known/mcp/server-card.json) ## Tools that work with a plain URL No code execution or POST needed. Fetch the URL; add `format=text` for a one-line answer. Every POST utility also answers GET with its JSON body in `?json=` (URL-encoded) or `?b64=` (base64url): https://bozos.si/tools/fetch#post-by-url - Ranked keyword search over every BOZOS page, dataset, and reference-guide section, returning URLs to open and cite. Example: https://bozos.si/api/v1/search?q=GPTBot%20training - Record-level delta for the datasets: records added, changed, or removed after a date, with permalinks and current content. Example: https://bozos.si/api/v1/changes?since=2026-10-19 - Evaluate a robots.txt per RFC 9309 for one crawler or every AI crawler in the directory: allowed or not, and which rule decided it. Example: https://bozos.si/api/v1/robots-check?robots=User-agent%3A%20GPTBot%0ADisallow%3A%20%2F&path=/blog - Say which documented crawler a user-agent string claims to be, with its record and how its operator lets you verify it. Example: https://bozos.si/api/v1/identify?ua=Mozilla%2F5.0%20(compatible%3B%20ClaudeBot%2F1.0%3B%20%2Bclaudebot%40anthropic.com) - Convert a time between IANA time zones, or give the current time anywhere, with offsets, DST, and weekday. Example: https://bozos.si/api/v1/time?at=2026-11-03T09:00&from_tz=America/New_York&tz=Asia/Tokyo,Europe/London - Weekday, ISO week, and day of year for a date; add days, weeks, months, or years; count days and weekdays between dates. Example: https://bozos.si/api/v1/date?date=2026-10-19&add=90d&to=2026-12-25 - Exact rational arithmetic: + - * / ^ and parentheses with no floating-point error, as a fraction and decimal. Example: https://bozos.si/api/v1/calc?expr=0.1%2B0.2 - Count characters, words, bytes, and occurrences of a letter or substring, with positions. Example: https://bozos.si/api/v1/count?text=strawberry&char=r - Generate a robots.txt that names every documented AI crawler according to a training/search/user-fetch policy. Example: https://bozos.si/api/v1/robots?training=block&search=allow&user_fetch=allow ## Notes and reproducible experiments - [What cheaper cache reads change in VulcanBench](https://bozos.si/notes/vulcanbench-cache-reads): A different cache-read rate cuts the estimated Sonnet sweep by 27.44%.
